Welcome to my blog!
I've decided to set this up to share a little bit about the walks that we do, what books I read and basically our life in general. I intend to keep adding different links and information along the way, so please come back from time to time and see what there is, and feel free to comment on anything.

New team

Monday was the first day at work with my new team. I've gone from working on 1st floor to 6th floor in the same building. It's actually the floor I first started on nearly 21 years ago! It feels very strange after all these years.

My new team at work are really nice and chatty, and they all seem lovely. Hopefully it will make going to work that bit less of a chore now!

I didn't go line dancing again on Monday night. After a busy weekend and another early start with DD I was just too tired. But I took Oscar out for a walk after work which DH would normally do on a Monday.

And then yesterday I got to see my glass work from Sunday. The lovely Linda who runs the course was coming near where I work and said she'd meet me to give me my things. So, here they are ......

I don't think they're too bad for a first attempt at glass fusing and just 4 hours teaching. As Linda only does an initial introduction I think I may have to find somewhere else to go to carry on with it as I really enjoyed it. Another craft to learn!

And no mega early starts after Monday! DD has been working a more respectable 9am to 5pm days, which means she's still in bed when I go to work! It's taking a bit of getting used to with these different shifts that she's working.

Crafting and walking

What a weekend! Another full weekend with little time to spare.

Friday was a Ladies Lunch day. So, after an early start with DD, and a trip to the supermarket to do the shopping, I headed out to meet my friends in a little Italian restaurant for lunch. The food was lovely. It was just a pity that it took nearly an hour for it to arrive! I think we were all starting to wonder what had happened. So I don't think we'll be going back there ……

Then yesterday, after DD had gone out to work, and a quick check of the weather forecast, I suggested that if we got away early, and chose somewhere fairly close by, we could get a couple of hours walking in before the rain started. I think it was a little bit too early for DH, but I was wide awake for some reason! But, we did it - we managed to get away by 7.20am and were parked up and off walking by 8am!! However, my weather forecast wasn't quite accurate, and the drizzle and mist set in within minutes of us setting off ……

We were up on the local moors, and for most of the walk we couldn't really see anything ……

we couldn't even see the tower we were heading for most of the time!

We got there though, and sat inside on the stairs having a nice cup of hot chocolate by 9am. Then we walked down a different way through some woods …..

......there were some wooden carvings along the way......

and back to the van where we ate our sandwiches that I'd made!

As it was only about half an hour away we were home for 12 noon and I had enough time to get some painting done before making pizza for tea.

And today has been my glass fusing day. It was one of my Christmas presents off DH. The course is run by a lovely lady called Linda and is run in her home. She provides all the equipment, and plenty of cake and drinks! There were 6 of us and we all managed to make about 4 things each - either a coaster or hanger, two more hangers and a pendant or earrings. It was a really good day and I can't wait to find out how everything comes out after being in the kiln. Everything will be ready to collect from Tuesday onwards. But this is how mine looked before it went in the kiln ……..

This week is going to start with yet another mega early start for DD. She's supposed to be doing 9am-5pm this week, but is going in early tomorrow. And then with DH off to work early on Tuesday again, it will get to Wednesday before I'll be getting up for work at my normal time. So whether I'll be fit for line dancing tomorrow night again or not, I'm not sure yet!
