Welcome to my blog!
I've decided to set this up to share a little bit about the walks that we do, what books I read and basically our life in general. I intend to keep adding different links and information along the way, so please come back from time to time and see what there is, and feel free to comment on anything.

Weather forecast

We're on a bit of a road trip at the moment. It's DH's birthday this week and we've met up with DD and her boyfriend, and DH's daughter and partner, to spend a few days together and then celebrate all together on the day. It's involved a bit of travelling and lots of weather!!

Basically, our chosen location seems to have its own micro-climate. You can get such a variation in types of weather all on the same day. Take today for instance. We started out with coffee in the garden in the sun. No rain. No wind.

We had a drive out in sunshine.

We stopped for a look round, in sunshine. Within an hour of stopping we had mist rolling in and drizzle......

......which turned to rain as we set off back. Followed by white cloud and a bit of blue sky. Then back to rain and then more blue sky. And now it's windy and looks like it's going to rain again!

We also saw a lot of sheep today which was fun ..........

........and lots of hills when the mist cleared a bit ......

All in all it's been a pretty good day.

Oops

Well, I did it again. I missed my Wednesday blog. Apologies all round. What can I say except that charging round like a mad fool after finishing work at 12 noon yesterday, and coping with the heat (over 30 degrees C yesterday), kind of frazzled me a bit. I didn't even dare take Oscar out for a walk yesterday as he was struggling with the heat - he kept lying on the kitchen tiles to keep cool….

It's been one of those weeks to be honest. Sunday was spent cleaning the van and I finally managed to get round to fixing the curtains. They'd come a bit undone from the main track so I had to try and sew them back on to it. It might not be perfect, but there's no gaps now when the curtains are closed!

Monday was Line Dancing as normal, but far too hot for most of the time. All the ladies I usually sit with were on holiday so it felt a bit strange spending most of the night on my own.

Tuesday night I took Oscar for a slow walk round by the canal - the sun was shining and it was still quite hot at 7.30pm.

It was a lovely night, so we took our time.

And when yesterday came and was even hotter, I decided we'd have a night off and stay inside in the shade! This was after charging to two supermarkets to get the shopping done, and a mad panic about getting the housework done.

I have, however, managed to make some rainbow earrings to go with the necklace and bracelet I'd made……

… and also a couple of bracelets. ….

And how have the cats been coping with all this heat? Sleeping! And lots of it!

I think it must be too hot for them outside too, as they haven't really ventured out much at all this week.

And today we had rain. First thing this morning I took this photo .....

.....but within two hours it was raining, and continued to rain on and off all day.

It's a bit cooler outside now..........
