A trip to the vets on Monday afternoon with Titch who has been full of the sniffles and sneezing, followed by a very unplanned part journey to check on DHs mum on Monday night. We didn’t get there in the end but had set off as DH hadn’t been able to contact his mum after knowing she’d been at the hospital. Numerous failed attempts to get through by phone to check she was ok resulted in us getting part way to her house before DH finally managed to speak to her. Thankfully we didn’t have a two hour round trip - just 40 minutes.
I was at the hospital on Wednesday, at the orthopaedic department checking my back is healing ok. After an X-ray and chat to the consultant they have given me the go ahead to start running! Finally! After nearly ten months I can attempt a bit of running. I’ve been told to take it very slow and not do too much to start with. But at least I can try. It’s so good to know everything looked healed enough to start.
And then Thursday happened. Another appointment at the hospital. This time to check my jaw. Something I wasn’t looking forward to at all. So I got there a bit early and waited. And waited. Only to be told that the clinic had been cancelled and we should have been informed! That meant going home and ringing up for another appointment time! This was closely followed by DH arriving home and getting a call from DD to say she’d got a puncture in one of her front tyres as she was leaving work and was sat in a carpark and didn’t know what to do! After telling her to ring her breakdown provider she then let us know when she was expecting them. Her boyfriend headed to where she was to take her some food and stayed with her until the breakdown van arrived - nearly five hours later!!! DD was not happy at all. Especially as she was then told that they couldn’t fix the car and would need to get a breakdown truck. By this time it was nearly 10pm so they arranged for the truck to pick the car up Friday morning and DD eventually arrived home at 11pm. What a day for her!
Friday was a better day thankfully and a good night out with DD and her boyfriend as we all went to Manchester to see Michael McIntyre. It was a really good night and a chance to sit and relax and have a good laugh. After the week we’ve all had I think we were all ready for it.
And then yesterday I helped DH take some more of the cat run down. It’s getting there. Slowly.
It’ll make the garden look so much bigger. So much for us thinking we’d be able to just knock it down easily! No chance! We’ll keep plodding on with it over the next few weeks....
It gets round to the end of the week so quickly. Blink, and it’s gone!
