Mid week catch up

Ok. So it's just a bit late to be called a mid week catch up (but it's not so far off at this time in a morning).  Ever since getting back from Ibiza time seems to be galloping along at full speed with no rest.

I went back to work last Tuesday, and even though I was only in work for three days it seemed to be a long week! Every night had been spent sorting washing, ironing, or crafting, with Wednesday afternoon being my run time. Day One of my 10K training programme, following on from the C25K programme I finished on holiday. I've entered another 10K race at the end of November, so I thought I'd better get some extra training in.

DD was off work on Friday and so she came with me to see my mum, who'd arranged to sort out Power of Attorney details. All the paperworks done now. Hopefully we won't need it for a long while, but it's nice to know it's in place just in case. DD then headed off to go looking at houses with her boyfriend. They've been looking at a few recently but wanted to check out a couple of new properties. When she got home she was very excited about one property in particular, so they arranged to go back on Sunday to make the final decision. Which they did. And have now signed for a new house, their first house together, which might be ready by the end of the year! They've just got the mortgage to get sorted and then that's it. All systems go. She's been busy looking at house things since then - furniture, accessories, planning colour schemes for their decorating - they just need a moving date now.

DD couldn't make it to Parkrun on Saturday as she was working, so I went with DH. It was a lovely day....

.....and we set off together. I really wanted to beat my previous time so I tried to speed up. I didn't feel like I was going much faster but I just managed to finish a few seconds quicker than last time. Another PB for me! And DH managed to beat his last time too! Roll on this weeks.

The rest of the weekend has been about crafting. I had a craft fair on Sunday so I had a few bits to finish on Saturday, a few more seasonal items,  so that they could be out on Sunday.

Sadly the craft fair was really quiet so none of the stall holders did particularly well. However, I made good use of the time. I'd taken a ball of wool and a crochet hook with me as I've been practising following a pattern. For a pumpkin! I made one and then found out we were decorating the office for hallowe'en, so I carried on making them to take in to work.....

They're only small, but I think they're cool!

So that's where my times been going - busy making things!

It's also been a tough week this week as DD has been on a mega early shift - 5am to 1pm - which means a 4am alarm. Yawn ....... The first day wasn't too bad, but it's been getting tougher as the week goes on, so it's been mega early nights for us. I've still managed to get a run in though - day two of my 10K training yesterday with a lovely run by the canal ....

......followed by a bit more crafting last night as I was finishing off another crochet shape ......

I know it's not perfect, but it's my little bat. It's been fun making these shapes, but I think I need to go back to the Christmas stuff for my stall now! I have at least 6 craft fairs before Christmas, so time to get on with some reindeer I think .......

I probably won't get chance to update this weekend as we're heading south for a handfasting ceremony. We've never been to one before so I don't thing any of us know quite what to expect. All we know is that the ceremony is going to be outside, so fingers crossed for a dry day! The ceremony's on Sunday so we're travelling down on Saturday after taking Oscar to the kennels for the second time. So a busy weekend ahead.

Now, if somebody could just get me a few more days to get everything done I'd be fine!
