After DD headed home last Saturday we set off on a walk close to the village. We've done it twice before, and got rained on both times. We set off with the sun shining.
The aim was to carry on along the side of the river, but the path became too wet, with crossing the river almost impossible eventually, so we turned round and headed for the loch we normally go to.
And guess what? It rained again!
Thank goodness for waterproofs!
After spending a night on the campsite we set off north to do a road we love from just south of the Kylesku Bridge...
......before parking up in a fabulous little spot we've discovered ....
......with a lovely walk down to the sea.....
....and a climb up a hill, where it promptly rained on us, but then gave some amazing views....
.....and a short walk after eating to see this .....
The next day we carried on travelling north, heading for Durness, stopping at Scourie first to get out walking.
Such a fabulous walk, with views out to sea and Handa Island....
.....with a stop for lunch ....
....before heading back to the van.
Time to get to Durness and get parked up on the campsite and head off on another short walk, to find another secluded beach ...
....and watch the rain in the distance and see the rainbow appearing ....
And we're only on Monday night!!
I think I'll call it a night and update more tomorrow...........
