I spent Saturday trying to finish off some part done crafts - plaques and tags. I managed to finish the plaques .....
I didn't quite finish the tags though as they all needed sanding down which took a bit of time.
They look much better sanded down, and it's been good fun making them. I also took DD shopping on Saturday after she'd finished work. She was due to have a weeks training for a new job this week and wanted some 'smart casual' clothes. We managed to find a couple of bits to add to her clothes she'd already got.
Sunday morning I did some more sanding before taking DD to my mums while DH went to see his mum. Then home to help DD pack a small suitcase ready for a flight to Southampton on Monday morning.
And then Monday morning happened. I'd told work I'd be in a bit later with taking DD to the airport for her flight at 8.55am. The aim was to get to the airport by 8am and give her plenty of time to get through security and for me to get back to work at a reasonable time. However, what we hadn't bargained for was the horrendous traffic on the motorway. What usually takes under an hour took nearly two hours! We got to the airport at 8.30 so not much time to spare. After panicking where to go we found the security desk and DD went through. And then I found out that her suitcase had been rejected as she'd forgotten to put her liquids in a clear plastic bag!! And then I heard them giving out a final call for 3 passengers, including DD. I finally got a quick text from her letting me know she'd got on the plane, thankfully. What a journey though!! And then off to work for me. Followed by a trip back to Manchester at night with DH to go and see Crosby, Stiils and Nash (thanks for the photo DH).
But what a long day yesterday.
So DD is currently away from home, training on the Isle of Wight, and DH is also away on his usual two nights away for work. So just me for a couple of nights - me and my animals - 4 cats and a dog.
